Welcome to my blog!
In this blog you will find my journal, reflection, lessons, resources and journey across developing Digital Technologies and Computational Thinking.
My name is Leeanne Geelhoed and currently I am a part time Year 3 teacher, however over the past 10+ years I have worked mostly in Year 5 and 6 across several different schools. Obviously being at different schools has allowed my to develop and understand a range of different technologies, as each school approaches things differently. It has also created a strong interest for me in how to teach Digital Technologies, improve my own practice and then hopefully start creating my own solutions.
Being an upper primary school teacher, I found the application of Digital Technologies quite interesting and so be honest, quite easy to apply. Year 6 students are pretty capable and really, a lot of them are probably more capable than me! Year 3 on the other hand is a different ball game. I am learning to shift my thinking of how to approach different tasks, but also integrate activities into the curriculum we are teaching.
Hopefully this journey will help clear my own thoughts in this process.
Stay tuned.....
